Since the recent popularity of broadcast monitors, the standard composite signal of old has gotten the modish reputation of being undesirable by retro game enthusiasts, as well as for CRT hobbyists. Back in the days of analog televisions, the more common way to connect classic consoles was through composite video (also known as RCA cables).

"Hardware is an interesting topic regarding retro games, but it's not the primary target of interest we have regarding retro games. It's games in relation to historical, cultural, aesthetic, and technological relevance.

the Sensorama Patent (1962) In 1956, Cinematographer Morton Heilig created Sensorama, arguably the earliest known example of an immersive, multi-sensory virtual reality headset. Heilig's spectacles combined a full-color 3D video, audio, vibrations, smell, and atmospheric wind effects, the user would sit in an imaginary motorcycle while experiencing the street of New York through the screen.




Augmented Reality - 3D Virtual Pinball with BAM and Kinect 2

I recently decided to build a virtual pinball and included a Microsoft Kinect 2 as part of the build, watching the videos online really sparked a lot of interest in me and others joining the discussion. BAM is a software for Windows allowing perspective calculated for viewer eyes position in Pinball machine using the Kinect 2 device released by Microsoft for the XBox game console.




Samsung's Steam Link app is a "game changer"

 Steam Link is a device allowing users to extend their Steam gaming experience to their mobile device, TV; all you need is a local network or internet connection. In addition, the Steam Link app now supports Remote Play Together. Now you can join games hosted on a friend’s PC just by clicking a link. If you’ve got a 4K Samsung smart TV with access to the Samsung app store, you can now stream Steam games up to 4K to your television set.
